Who is the CSR Professional of the Year? Who plays a strategic and indispensable role within his company or organization as someone who motivates, inspires or implements? Every year, Time4Society wants to know the answer to these questions. A nomination round and three voting rounds decide who will be the winner.
On 20 February, the fifth annual CSR Professional of the Year event took place. It was a festive network event with a reception, inspirational speakers and a walking dinner.
Caroline Pauwels, rector of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel was named the Dutch-speaking CSR Professional of 2019. She introduced inspiring projects such as the new campus, Usquare, on the grounds of the old police base. The rector also manages to involve a wide range of stakeholders: students, employees, the city of Brussels and many more. Her explicit diversity policy, combined with being in touch with the latest goings on in society are striking.
Nicolas Declercq, founder of Brasserie Leopold 7, became the French-speaking CSR Professional of 2019. Leopold 7 is an excellent example of how a smaller business can be a force for change in its sector. Nicolas integrates all the important aspects of CSR in the management of Leopold 7: people, environment and profitability.
For the second time we also awarded the title of CSR Pioneers of the Year 2019. These starters in the field of CSR with a strong, inspirational project or best practice were: Jonas Mallisse of Too Good To Go, Farah Laporte of Refu Interim, Augstin Nourissier of SkyFarms, Caroline de Cartier of Teach for Belgium and Vincent Bulteau of the municipality of Beauvechain.
